Senior Developer J2EE
Overview:

Devicescape is a provider of wireless software for Service Enabled Devices. Service Enabled Devices, unlike traditional devices, are always ‘connected’ via a web presence that provides easy to configure network access, management, diagnostics, and ability to enable web services, easily and simply. Devicescape is leading this revolutionary category of new device software and services.
Responsibilities:
In this position you will be designing and implementing business logic, web services and applications for this new category of Service Enabled Devices. Candidates should have prior experience with developing a commercial, production grade web site and its server backend functionality using J2EE infrastructure and technologies.
- Your main focus will be on design and implementation of server side functionality (e.g. business logic, web services).
- Appropriate documentation, planning and timely delivery of your software components is expected.
- Participation and contribution of your innovative ideas in software reviews and discussions is a must.
This exceptional opportunity reports to the Director of Development in Devicescape’s San Bruno office.
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent conceptual design and implementation skills
- Expert programming skills in Java, PHP, C and other languages
- Expert database programming skills.
- Knowledge and experience with J2EE, Hibernate, Struts
Required Experience:
- 10+ years experience in software development
- 5+ years experience in a lead role, where you have demonstrated not only your technical skills, but your leadership and mentoring ability
- 5+ years experience developing software complex commercial web sites and web services
- 5+ years of Linux programming experience
- B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
Desired Experience:
- Experience with networking and wireless technologies
