Senior Product Manager - Device Software

Overview:

Devicescape Software, a leader in wireless software for Service Enabled Devices, is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join our growing team. If you’re a seasoned product leader with a strong background in devices, software and wireless technologies, then we’d love to talk to you about enabling a new category of devices.

Service-enabled devices, unlike traditional devices, take advantage of Internet connectivity to access a vast array of content and services from online providers. Moreover, these devices can access web services and content directly, via a wireless connection, rather than by means of an intermediary PC. As an example, imagine a personal media player that can automatically connect whenever within range of a wireless hotspot, logon to an online video site, and download content for later viewing or sharing with other devices. Devicescape’s software is enabling this kind of compelling capability in the next generation of electronic devices.

As a company, we target consumer, mobile and office electronics manufacturers who rely on our software to service-enable their devices and enjoy improved innovation, time to market, service provider interoperability and end-customer acceptance. We also target service providers who use our technology to deliver new revenue generating applications and services that work with the service-enabled devices used by their subscribers.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Product Manager at Devicescape, you will define market requirements and help drive our business for device software products. You will specify new releases based on your experience in the wireless and consumer electronics markets, and your contact with customers and prospects. You will articulate the compelling value propositions and elements of differentiation for our products. You will work closely with our network operator, semiconductor and software partners to align roadmaps and develop joint marketing strategies. You will be responsible for creating product collateral, web content, sales presentations, white papers and contributed articles. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, be able to craft a long-term vision, and have the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time understanding customer problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work very closely with other product managers responsible for web services that communicate with consumer electronics devices. You will work with senior engineering counterparts to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, collaborating on product positioning, key benefits, and messaging for target customers. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offerings, working with our sales channels, key customers, and important partners. This position reports to the company’s Vice President of Marketing.
