Windows Mobile 5.0

Windows Mobile 5.0 dual mode Smartphones and other Wi-Fi devices are designed to help you get more from your device. Now with Devicescape, you can expect more too. Faster Wi-Fi connections, more coverage and less time spent entering user names and passwords. We have tested many different Windows Mobile 5 devices and are queuing up others to test as well.

The following steps should be followed if you want to install Devicescape on a Windows Mobile device.

1. Browse to http://www.devicescape.com/download and click on Download Windows Mobile 5 installation package now.
   Note: You will be asked to agree to our Download Agreement. Click I Agree to accept.
2. Open the devicescape-WM5.msi file on the Windows XP computer to install the package. The Devicescape Setup Wizard opens.
3. Follow the Devicescape Setup Wizard. Click Next to continue through the Wizard.
   
4. Select the I Agree radio button and click Next.
   
5. Select the folder where you want to install Devicescape. If you are happy with the default destination folder, click Next.
   
6. Click Next to run the installer
   

A progress bar will appear during the installation.


7. Once the installation is successful a confirmation message appears. Click Close to exit the Wizard.
   
   
8. Once installation is complete the Devicescape Setup application launches. Click Start to begin Devicescape Setup.
   
9. Step 1 of Devicescape Setup shows a message instructing you to connect your device to your PC.
   Connect the Windows Mobile 5 device via ActiveSync to your Windows XP computer. Click Next to continue.
   
10. ActiveSync will launch and instruct you to check your mobile device screen for see additional steps to complete the installation. Perform any necessary steps indicated on the Windows Mobile 5 device such as confirming the install. Then confirm the dialog on the Windows XP screen.

11. If the Microsoft .NET Compact Framework is not already installed on your device, follow the instructions to install it. Following the .NET CF install, the device will indicate it must be restarted. OK the device to reboot. When the device has rebooted, OK the Windows XP dialog to continue the Devicescape Setup.

12. If you are an existing user you are prompted to enter your Username and Password
    
    

    If you are a new user you are asked to register with Devicescape.

    
13. Step 3 of Devicescape Setup involves adding services to your account.
    Click Next to open my.devicescape.com and enter any services you are subscribed to.
    
14. A confirmation message appears telling you Devicescape Setup has been successful. Click Finish to exit Devicescape Setup.
    
    Congratulations. Your device is ready to go.
15. When your my.devicescape.com account opens, you will see that your new mobile device is now listed.
