Nokia 770 Tablet

The Nokia 770 is a web tablet that allows easy portable web browsing and email access. With the Devicescape service, your web tablet can now also connect automatically to all of your favorite hotspots – getting you connected faster.

Follow these steps to upgrade the Nokia 770 with the latest Devicescape software package. If you are using OS 2005 edition firmware, please follow the instructions on http://europe.nokia.com/A4144790 to upgrade your firmware first. Firmware information can be found out from "Control Panel"/"Device"/"About Product"

Prerequisites: Ensure the Nokia 770 has a web connection.

1. Browse to http://www.devicescape.com/download and click on Download Nokia 770 installation package now.
   
2. Open the Devicescape Nokia 770 .deb package.
   Note: The Nokia package can always be identified by a .deb file extension.
3. Click Open to open the downloaded package.
   
4. A confirmation message appears asking if you are sure you want to install the software package. Click OK to continue the installation.
   
5. A Notice dialog box appears telling you that you are about to install a package that is not Nokia software. Click OK to continue installation.
   
6. A Select Location dialog box appears. You can choose the location to store the Devicescape application. You can leave the default Utilities folder as the location and click OK or you can change the location folder by clicking Change Folder.
   
7. Once the download is complete a message will appear telling you that Devicescape has been successfully installed. Click OK to close the dialog box.
   
8. Once Devicescape has been installed, it would be started automatically.You can also find the application under the Utilities menu.
   
9. You would be asked to agree to our End User License Agreement. Click I Agree to proceed.
10. A message appears to prompt your Devicescape account. Enter your Devicescape username and password, then click Register to complete the device registration.
    Note: When Devicescape is running you will see the Devicescape icon in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
    
11. If the registration is successful, you should be able to see your device listed on https://my.devicescape.com/member under My Devices.
    
12. We begin to provide application auto-update feature from our Feb,2007 release. You can use Application Manager to check available updates.
