Wi-Fi offload company Devicescape will offer MagniFi MWC, an application that automatically connects users’ mobile devices to Wi-Fi networks for free. MagniFi MWC also provides a real-life demonstration of Devicescape’s proximity marketing service dubbed ‘PopWiFi’.

Devicescape offers intelligent network selection and a Curated Virtual Network (CVN) of over 12 million amenity Wi-Fi hotspots, enabling mobile operators to magnify capacity-reach while elevating the “always best connected” experience. The company has recelty launched its PopWiFi proximity marketing service that enables amenity Wi-Fi owners to send messages to customers connected to their in-store Wi-Fi networks.

MagniFi MWC will demonstrate PopWiFi for users that enter one of the many designated bars around town, where a message (marked by an ℹ) will appear on their devices that gives them a voucher for a free drink.

MagniFi MWC, only available on Android, also facilitates connections at other locations offering city-based Wi-Fi, commercial hotspots or amenity Wi-Fi at the many retail and food establishments around the city. Devicescape has sponsored certain commercial Wi-Fi networks to be made available for free for the duration of Mobile World Congress.

Also on display at Devicescape’s stand will be visualizations of the composition and growth patterns of the CVN, the CVN’s capacity impact in conjunction with small cells and base stations and how Curator Auto-Connect works to elevate the subscriber experience. Devicescape will share information on the CVN’s global growth, as well as from a regional and country-based perspective.
