What Is Serengeti?

Simply put, Serengeti is a smart Safari. It's smart enough to log you in to your Wi-Fi network before beginning a web surfing session!

Why Do I Need This?

Although we love the iPhone, it can be a real pain to use in hotspots, because once you enter a hotspot that needs a login, the iPhone cuts off your cellular data. Presumably it thinks you're connected, but of course, you haven't logged into Wi-Fi yet. End result: "black hole".

Easy Wi-Fi is designed to help with this by logging you in with a single application launch. But, don't you wish this just all happened for you? It's annoying to be trying to browse, and having to exit Safari, find Easy Wi-Fi, start it up, wait, exit, and restart Safari.

For all of you frustrated by this, here is Serengeti. It turns web surfing into the single button push it should be! No more hotspot "black holes." And, for iPod users, faster access to the web in a single app.

Using Serengeti

It's simple:

Download Serengeti from the App Store. It's FREE!
Start Serengeti and enter your Easy Wi-Fi username and password. This will ensure Serengeti can log you into all your accounts.
Every time you want to surf the web, simply start Serengeti.

Questions and Tips

I Already Use Easy Wi-Fi. Do I Need Serengeti?

Use both! Serengeti and Easy Wi-Fi have identical abilities to log you into networks, although Easy Wi-Fi has the capability to log you out and manage your account on the device.

As a login aid, Serengeti might be more convenient as you can use it as a replacement for the Safari button (some users even move it to the bottom row of icons, for easy access).

I'm a Developer. Can I Use Easy Wi-Fi In My Apps?

Yes! Serengeti is a great example of an Easy Wi-Fi enabled app. If you want to incorporate our iPhone OS library in your own apps checkout our developer program for details.

Can't You Make the Sign-in Automatic?

Not yet. We're hoping that Apple help us do some more fancy Wi-Fi stuff. Then we'd be able to do all of this automatically: delivering a better media-rich user experience and reducing congestion on 3G.
