Appointment of mobile industry luminary underscores continued company momentum

SAN BRUNO, Calif., February 19, 2013—Devicescape today announced the appointment of Arun Sarin to its Board of Directors. Sarin, former CEO of Vodafone Group Plc, also serves on the boards of Cisco Systems, Safeway, Inc. and Charles Schwab and is a trustee for the Blum Center for Developing Economies at the University of California, Berkeley. He brings over 30 years of telecommunications leadership experience to Devicescape.

“I am thrilled to have Arun join Devicescape’s board,” said Devicescape CEO Dave Fraser. “From fueling innovation with technology suppliers to running one of the largest mobile operators in the world, he knows our industry inside and out. This appointment is coming at the perfect time as the company executes its next phase of growth.”

Sarin formerly served as CEO of Vodafone from 2003-2008. Prior to that, he held chief executive positions with Accel-KKR Telecom, InfoSpace, Inc. and AirTouch International. In March 2010, Sarin received an honorary knighthood from Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. Sarin has an MS in engineering and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley.

“Devicescape enables operators to provide their customers with an enhanced mobile experience and to substantially lower costs,” said Sarin. “As public Wi-Fi becomes an increasingly important part of carriers’ network strategies, Devicescape is uniquely positioned for significant growth.”
