DEVICESCAPE SELECTED AGAIN FOR WI-FI ALLIANCE CERTIFICATION TESTBED

Company is only supplier of all elements used for latest Wi-Fi Certification Program

BRISBANE , Calif. - April 12, 2005 - Devicescape has strengthened its position as the leading provider of wireless networking software with the selection of the company's client and authentication server software for the Wi-Fi Alliance certification testbed. Devicescape's wireless supplicant (client software) and RADIUS server will be used for testing Wi-Fi equipment in the Alliance's new extended Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP) methods certification program. With this most recent selection, Devicescape is now the only company providing technology for both Wi-Fi access point and client device certification.

Wi-Fi Alliance certification assures proven compatibility and interoperability among Wi-Fi devices. This certification gives equipment buyers confidence that wireless LAN products bearing the Wi-Fi logo have passed rigorous interoperability testing requirements. Being selected as the reference implementation for these rigorous tests is a testament to the robustness and capability of Devicescape’s software technology. As a result, wireless device manufacturers worldwide are turning to Devicescape software platforms to rapidly develop innovative new products that are secure, interoperable, easy to use and highly manageable.

EAP and RADIUS are used in conjunction with the IEEE 802.1X protocol as the standard way to authenticate users and devices in corporate networks. Devicescape's supplicant and RADIUS server represent the only implementations in the Alliance testbed supporting all the required EAP methods, including EAP-TLS, EAP-TTLS, PEAPv0, PEAPv1 and EAP-SIM. Devicescape's access point software was previously selected by the Alliance as the reference for the WPA™ (Wi-Fi Protected Access) and WPA2™ security, and WMM™ (Wi-Fi Multimedia) quality of service certification programs.
