Market-Leading WLAN Technology Key to Enabling Mobile Connectivity


BRISBANE , Calif. - May 18, 2005 - Devicescape Software, a leader in software for wireless devices, today announced that palmOne, Inc., a leader in handheld computing and communications solutions, has incorporated Devicescape's software into its new LifeDrive™ mobile manager, introduced today. As an integral component of LifeDrive, Devicescape's software provides Wi-Fi support, giving users the freedom to stay connected wirelessly in offices, hotels, airports and other hotspots. Powered by Devicescape, the LifeDrive mobile manager enables users to access the Internet whenever they are within range of a Wi-Fi connection.1

With this announcement, Devicescape now supports the Palm OS® operating system, adding to the company's broad range of system support capabilities. palmOne leveraged Devicescape's wireless software technology and extensive WLAN expertise to integrate a Wi-Fi client solution into the LifeDrive mobile manager. Additionally, because Devicescape's Wi-Fi software is used as a reference standard in the Wi-Fi Alliance's testbed, LifeDrive users are ensured of seamless interoperability.
