Principle (Java) Software Engineer, Devicescape Software

Devicescape operates the world’s largest Wi-Fi service platform, delivering a better mobile data experience to smartphone users and unique customer engagement opportunities to amenity Wi-Fi providers.  At the heart of this platform is a crowd-sourced database of Wi-Fi access points, which we profile and validate to include in our Curated Virtual Network (CVN).  Mobile devices can leverage this collection of free, public, and intentionally shared Wi-Fi access points to adaptively select the best network available, be it Wi-Fi or cellular, to truly deliver the best possible data experience for a user.  We are now leveraging that asset to build out our Popwifi customer engagement service.  With Popwifi businesses and other types of venues providing the Wi-Fi infrastructure are able to leverage our network to foster communication with customers, exploiting social and sharing capabilities to help businesses build customer communities. Popwifi is activated an instant with no additional hardware requirement; enabling businesses to promote products and services to customers based on preferences and proximity, and collect valuable feedback on their customer experience.
