This is the largest virtual network in the world, with over 8 million free public hotspots that are curated to guarantee quality and bandwidth. The service is activated when a Bouygues Telecom customer’s Android smartphone is within range of one of the hotspots. The switch is automatic and transparent to the user. Consumers expect that WiFi should always be available whenever they want it, and are frustrated when it isnt. Over 200 mobile WiFi users participated in the survey, which revealed, amongst other things that, alongside the increasing expectation for ubiquitous WiFi, maintaining appropriate levels of security over WiFi is still an issue.
